Honours for Historians
7 May 2015
We were delighted to hear that two Hertford historians are among the six authors shortlisted for the Royal Historical Society’s 2014 Gladstone Prize.
The prize is awarded to a history book on any topic that is not primarily British history, and is the author’s first solely written book. Giora Sternberg, our inaugural Ellis Barnard Fellow in History, was nominated for his work Status Interaction during the Reign of Louis XIV, while Andrew Beaumont, our Home Bursar, was nominated for his work titled Colonial America and the Earl of Halifax, 1748-1761.
Both works were published by Oxford University Press.
