Head, Hand & Hertford Course Underway
14 March 2024
The latest instalment of Hertford’s ‘Head, Hand & Hertford’ course is currently taking place in college. Now in its third year, the course covers topics such as leadership, purpose, accountability, negotiation and innovation, allowing undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to learn skills not normally covered by their academic degree. Led by Principal Tom Fletcher, and running over seven days, it also features a range of high-profile guest speakers.
Former participants commented that “the Head, Hand & Hertford programme was incredibly informative and meaningful. We had the opportunity to hear life stories and gain industry insights from speakers with a wide range of backgrounds, and it really made me reflect and think about the kind of person I want to be.”
“The course was an enlightening experience, encouraging us to tackle current issues facing the world head-on and challenging our views. Not only did we gain new knowledge from experts […], but also new perspectives on hard work, success and moral integrity. I will carry the lessons I learnt from Head, Hand & Hertford with me throughout my life, in my career and beyond.”
Head, Hand & Hertford was launched in response to the college’s ‘Hertford 2030’ aspirations, which, amongst others, prioritise community and citizenship.
