Hertford welcomes new Chaplain
Hertford welcomes new Chaplain
12 October 2023
We are pleased to announce that Revd Anthony Buckley has been appointed as Hertford’s new Chaplain.
Anthony studied history at Keble and since then has been a schoolteacher, School Chaplain and priest in Hereford, Folkestone, South London and Oxford. He is joining Hertford from St Michael at the North Gate in Cornmarket Street, where he has been Vicar since 2019. Anthony is married to Monica, a Hertford alumna, and has two grown-up children. He sees the Chaplain’s role as being a supportive presence for everyone, whatever their background, and is looking forward to getting to know members of the Hertford community.
In his spare time, Anthony enjoys reading, especially history, detective stories, Tolkien and C S Lewis, and writes non-fiction and novels. He enjoys walking and socialising, and knows much too much about Elvis.
Principal Tom Fletcher says: “I am delighted that we will be welcoming Revd Anthony Buckley as our new Chaplain. He brings huge experience, wisdom and commitment, and I know will receive a warm welcome from the Hertford community.”
