Help is on hand
At Hertford we care passionately about enhancing your wellbeing, providing help when needed, and enabling you to quickly and easily access the health care and pastoral support you need.
Your health and wellbeing are high priorities for us. We want you to be able to access help and guidance for any problems you may have and to be able to contact the most appropriate person. Academic terms are very short at Oxford – just eight weeks – so it can be a pressurised environment. Because of this, we’ll help you to access our extensive support systems as quickly as possible. A small problem is usually easier to solve than a large one, so we strongly encourage you to ask for help if you need it. There is support available from both the college and the wider University, and we’ll always prioritise your confidentiality.
The pages below will tell you more about the excellent pastoral support we offer here. Finances can often be a worry too, but admission to Hertford is solely based on academic merit and potential. We believe that no UK undergraduate should be deterred from applying to Hertford for financial reasons – this is why we offer financial support to those who demonstrate their need.
