22 October 2020
Dr Louise Slater has been recognised for her important contributions to geomorphology by the European Geosciences Union.
The non-profit European Geosciences Union (EGU) is the leading organisation for Earth, planetary and space science research in Europe. Its awards & medals programme recognises eminent scientists for their outstanding research contributions and identifies the winners as role models to foster the next generation of geoscientists.
Dr Slater joined Hertford as a Tutorial Fellow in Geography in 2018. Her research focuses on understanding and predicting changes in fluvial systems and floods in the context of contemporary shifts in both climate and land cover. The EGU has awarded her the 2021 Division Outstanding Early Career Scientist Award for Geomorphology, which will be celebrated at the EGU General Assembly in April.
