Maria Nocchi
College Lecturer in Mathematics
Maria graduated with a Master’s Degree in Theoretical Physics at the University of Pisa in Italy and is currently a second-year DPhil student in Mathematics at the University of Oxford. She is part of the Mathematical Physics group. Her research analyses various aspects of Conformal Field Theories that play a special role in all physical systems. She is interested in applying the Conformal Bootstrap approach in the context of the AdS/CFT duality. In particular, she has been studying higher point amplitudes on curved backgrounds, corresponding to holographic correlators.
Besides academic research, Maria has always enjoyed teaching, aiming to acquire transferable skills and contributing to the development of students. After attending a specialised course in higher education, Maria gained experience working in private tutoring and then as a TA for the Mathematical Institute. She currently holds a Stipendiary Lectureship in Mathematics at Hertford College
