Junyan Song
Hi, My name is Junyan. I am going to be 2nd year MPhil student here at Hertford studying general linguistics.
When I was applying I heard that Hertford is one of the most friendly, inclusive and diverse colleges in Oxford – and after a year full of colorful, precious and happy memories, I would say indeed it is! Hertford has given me much support for both my life and study. I would love to do something in person to benefit the future development of this great college in return, thus I applied for this job. I am very excited to join this year’s telethon team.
I love playing the piano in my spare time and particularly enjoyed Baroque music. Last term, the Hertford Colllege Music Society helped me hold my very first personal recital in the college chapel. It was so nice! Also, as a linguist, I have a great passion towards languages and different cultures. Apart from my mother tongue Chinese and my first foreign language English, I am also fluent in Japanese, and speak a little bit French. I am a fan of Japanese animation, Chinese traditional literature as well as travelling.
