Brittany Pearce
Barrister at Guildhall Chambers
Name: Brittany Pearce
Matriculation Year: 2010
Subject: PPE
Occupation: Barrister at Guildhall Chambers
“After Oxford, I converted to law at Cardiff University and successfully completed pupillage with the Property & Estates Team at Guildhall Chambers, in Bristol, where I remain as a tenant.Â
I’ve ended up in a wonderful career, which has many of the benefits of self-employment (I often work from home, can normally choose the hours/days I work and I can be exceedingly greedy when it comes to how much time I take off for travelling), married together with a varied job that at its heart requires academic analysis of the law and consideration of how it fits with life in reality. It also pays rather well, though that’s not the case for all areas and I’d caution anyone to think carefully about embarking on a career at the criminal bar.
Away from work, I’m a firm fan of CrossFit, horse riding, practising the piano (poorly) and French (also poorly). And there’s always travel, lots of it.Â
I’m more than happy to talk with any student considering a career as a barrister.”
