Abbigail Colwyn

Hi, my name is Abbi and I have just finished my first year studying English Literature and Language at Hertford.

I’m from Leeds, a Yorkshire lass at heart, and have thoroughly enjoyed becoming part of the Hertford community here in Oxford. I have had the best year; trying out ultimate Frisbee, becoming obsessed with Zumba, and helping out at the Oxbridge Conferences in Newcastle. I can honestly say that I have already made life-long friends and have loved making the most of university life.

Over the past year, I have also developed my interest in international development, completing a micro-internship for a Ugandan community empowerment centre improving their services to aspiring entrepreneurs. This led me to a 6 week summer internship programme offering further support to similar social projects. Through the opportunity to work on the telethon, I am looking forward to supporting efforts that will continue to make Hertford a progressive, friendly and supportive environment.
