Undergraduate financial support

Admission to Hertford is based on academic merit and potential. We believe that no undergraduate should be deterred from applying to Hertford for financial reasons, and offer financial support to those who demonstrate their need.

Compared with other English universities, the University of Oxford has one of the most generous packages of fee waivers and bursaries for undergraduates. You can find more about current University support by using the Fees, Funding and Scholarship search feature.

At Hertford we have a generous bursary scheme for undergraduate students. We also provide grants to students experiencing unexpected financial hardship and offer financial support for graduate study.

To help with living costs, we can provide college-owned accommodation for all years of undergraduate study at competitive prices, and our freshly-cooked meals are good value for money too. These are available on a pay-as-you-go basis, or by purchasing a meal plan voucher in blocks of 30, 60 or 90 meals at a discounted price.
