Graduates
Why Hertford for graduates?
Set at the centre of our historic city and University, with beautiful buildings and forward-thinking colleagues, Hertford is the ultimate base for your graduate studies.
The Bodleian Library is just next door and most University departments are only a short walk or cycle away, making our location ideal for your busy schedule. With around 300 graduate students from all over the world studying disciplines across the University’s academic divisions, there’s no better place to meet new friends and encounter new ideas.
Housed in the ancient Octagon building (so called for its eight sides), our Middle Common Room (MCR) is your dedicated home in college. By day, you’ll find a quiet oasis in the city centre; in the evenings, a buzzing hub of pre-dinner debates and post-dinner drinks. A dedicated team of elected representatives means that the MCR is both a key social space and a properly supportive community – one that is lively, active and always looking out for you.
