Academic skills
At Hertford we have an Academic Skills Tutor, Dr Catherine Sloan, who is on hand to offer advice on transitioning from undergraduate to postgraduate studies, adapting to academic life in Oxford and the UK, upgrading your approaches to learning to meet the challenges of graduate work, and time management.
Getting academic help at Hertford can look like:
- going to a workshop with other postgraduate students
- joining a supportive writing group to overcome writer’s block
- dropping by Catherine’s office during office hours with a question
- booking a one-to-one meeting with the Academic Skills Tutor.
Your Academic Skills Tutor is here to help all year round, not just during term, and you can always contact Catherine on catherine.sloan@hertford.ox.ac.uk with any questions or to arrange a meeting.
Once you are enrolled as a Hertford student, you will also have access to the academic skills resources on Hertford’s Academic Skills Canvas website https://canvas.ox.ac.uk/courses/32957.
