The Visiting Student Programme at Hertford College

Hertford College has a welcoming, high quality and well established Visiting Student Programme for students from North American Universities.  The college is one of Oxford’s oldest colleges.  It is small, friendly, and ideally located right in the centre of Oxford, opposite the world famous Bodleian library and the beautiful Sheldonian concert hall as well as within easy walking distance of Faculty libraries, lecture theatres, bookshops and cafes.

Once you are accepted onto the Hertford programme you are given the status of a “Registered Visiting Student”.  This accords you an official status in relation to the University of Oxford thereby giving you access to the University and Faculty libraries as well as all lectures and seminars open to Oxford undergraduates.

Hertford accepts Visiting Students via the Registered Visiting Student Scheme.  There are various ways to apply depending on your home university. Hertford has a long standing relationship with both Princeton University and William and Mary University.  Students from these universities should apply via their Study Abroad offices. Students from other American universities are encouraged to apply via the Butler University’s Institute for Study Abroad or Arcadia University’s Centre for Education  Abroad.
