Housekeeper
Hertford College is looking for an experienced, organised and reliable person to join our busy but friendly Housekeeping team at our main site on Catte Street.
The role is permanent and 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day), starting salary is ÂŁ32,198 pa. Monday to Friday, with the occasional weekend swap. Working times usually start between 7am-8am, finish between 3pm-4pm.
The Housekeeper:
- is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleaning are maintained throughout the College site.
- is line manager the senior scouts (cleaning supervisors) scouts (cleaners) and ground scouts (caretakers) on the Catte Street site.
- is expected to contribute to the review, development, and continual improvement of housekeeping services on their site.
- is responsible for the health and safety practices of their team, ensuring appropriate risk assessments are in place and training is up to date.
- is expected to be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing, with students, staff, senior members of the college, contractors, visitors, alumni and suppliers.
You must have extensive experience working as a Cleaning Supervisor, with a proven ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop a team to achieve and maintain high service standards. You must have a firm understanding and experience of Health and Safety procedures including manual handling and COSHH. You must be reliable, self-motivated, have an eye for detail, have excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing and have good IT skills. You must take pride in your standard of work, be highly organised and be approachable.
