William Tyndale Anniversary Celebration

22 October 2026

The Hertford community are warmly invited to join us on Thursday 22 October for our Tyndale Anniversary event which marks the 500th anniversary of alumnus William Tyndale’s printing of the New Testament in English.

Programme:

• 14:00 – Enjoy music from the choir including a specially commissioned piece from Hertford alumna Joanna Forbes L’Estrange, followed by reflections by Revd Anthony Buckley and a talk by Revd Dr Robert Wainwright in Chapel.
• 15:00 – 15:30 – Refreshments in the Ante-Chapel.

There will also be a special display of Tyndale-related books from the 1500s and 1600s in the Lower SCR, hosted by the Library & Archives Team. This will be open from 12:00 to 15:30, and members of college and any guests are very welcome to visit the display before or after the events in the Chapel.
