Open Days

1 July 2026 - 2 July 2026

We’re excited to welcome you to Hertford College for our in-person Open Days on 1 July and 2 July 2026, running from 10:00 to 17:30 each day. No booking is required, but please note that there will be limited spaces available at some sessions, so these will be offered on a first come, first served basis.

All day – College tours with undergraduates

Join one of our informal college tours with a student ambassador to see the sights of Hertford, from our library and hall to student accommodation and the JCR (Junior Common Room). And of course you’ll be able to walk over our famous bridge! Tours will be running throughout the day, starting at 10:00, so you’ll only have to wait a few minutes for the next one. While you’re waiting, check out our information stands in the quad. Here you can meet staff and ask questions about admissions and college life. The last tours will depart at 17:00.

12:30 and 13:15 – Meet the tutors

Meet our tutors to find out about your subject and how it’s taught at Hertford. You’ll also have the chance to ask any subject-specific questions you might have. Most subjects offered at Hertford will be represented in one of two groups, half from 12:30 to 13:00 and the other half from 13:15 to 13:45. Booking is not required for any of our sessions. Please come to the main quad promptly for the start time of your session so that you can be directed to the appropriate room. As space is limited, these sessions are for prospective applicants only; parents and carers can attend the separate sessions happening at the same time (see below).

12:30-13:00 Group: Biochemistry, Economics & Management, English, Computer Science, Mathematics, Archaeology & Anthropology, History, Chemistry, Human Sciences, Music.

13:15-13:45 Group: Medicine, Law, Engineering, PPE, Biology, Modern Languages, Geography, Physics, Japanese Studies and Chinese Studies.

12:30 and 13:15 – Parents and carers’ session

Running at the same time as subject sessions for prospective applicants above – we’ll talk about topics such as finance, accommodation, welfare and disability support and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Accommodation

We are unable to offer overnight accommodation to Open Day attendees; however, some other colleges do, and a full list can be found here: Open Day accommodation | University of Oxford. Visitors are advised to contact colleges directly to check availability and book.
