Senior Scout (Cleaning Supervisor)

Senior Scout

Hertford College is looking for an organised and reliable person to join our busy but friendly Housekeeping team our main site at Catte Street.

The role is permanent and 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day), starting salary is ÂŁ29,428 per annum (ÂŁ15.05 per hour). Monday to Friday, with the occasional weekend swap. Working times usually start between 7am-8am, finish between 3pm-4pm.

The Senior Scout is to assist the Housekeeping Manager in maintaining the highest standards of cleaning throughout the College.

To supervise the scouts and ground scouts, and to assist with staff training – coordinate on-the-job training including COSHH and Health and Safety training.

To carry out inspection of College student accommodation, communal areas, as well as general College areas, to ensure standards of cleaning are being met and addressing any areas of concern with staff as directed by the Housekeepers and Housekeeping Manager. To assist with the Linen Room and Laundry activities.

You must have worked previously as a Cleaning Supervisor or College Scout, have a firm understanding and experience of Health and Safety procedures including manual handling and COSHH.  You must be reliable, self-motivated, have an eye for detail, have excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing and have good IT skills. You must take pride in your standard of work and be approachable.
