Mr Simon Brewster

SCR Cellarmaster
Simon Brewster graduated from Charing Cross Hospital Medical School (BSc [1st class Anatomy] 1983, MBBS [Hons. Pathology] 1986), then undertook surgical training, FRCS exams and MD research in Bristol 1988-98. He was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon in Oxford with a clinical and research interest in prostate cancer and prostatic disease in 1998. He has been leading clinical teaching, assisting with admissions interviewing and supporting clinical students at Hertford since 2002 (Lecturer 2002-2011; SRF 2011 – present). During Years 4-6, the Hertford medical students receive regular exam-focused bedside clinical teaching at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Simon has been the Senior Common Room Cellarmaster from 2017-present. In this role Simon purchases and curates a wine cellar of approximately 4000 bottles, also providing a sommelier service pairing the wines with menus at formal and private college dinners.
