Dr Benedikt Placke
Early Career Research Associate in Physics
Benedikt is a theoretical physicist broadly interested in condensed matter and quantum computing, and in exploring novel ways in which research in these two fields can compliment each other.
​Before joining the University of Oxford as a Leverhulme-Peierls fellow, he obtained a Bachelor and Master of Physics from RWTH Aachen University, and a PhD degree from TU Dresden, where he worked with advisor Roderich Moessner at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems.
​He also teaches ​at Hertford, currently 2nd year Maths and Thermodynamics.
