Dawid [ˈdʌvɪd] did his undergraduate degree in St Peter’s College and his DPhil in Magdalen College, Oxford. He then went through Warsaw, Bonn and Bielefeld, to finally return to Oxford, this time to Hertford.
He was a Tutorial Fellow in Pure Mathematics from 2020 to 2026, and is now a Senior Research Fellow.

Research interests
Dawid is a group theorist, which means that he spends his days studying symmetries of various objects (including symmetries of symmetries). He particularly enjoys encoding information about symmetries into polynomials and polytopes.
His current work is funded by the ERC Consolidator Grant 2024 ‘HigherHyper’ and focuses on understanding high-dimensional spaces by viewing them as spaces of one dimension less evolving in time. The connection with symmetries might not be apparent, but it’s there!
