DPhil success in Varsity rugby
7 December 2018
Oxford’s win against Cambridge in yesterday’s Varsity Match at Twickenham was secured by Hertford student Tom Humberstone.
Tom, who started a DPhil in Pharmacology at Hertford this year, was the match’s stand-out player, leading Oxford to victory for the first time since 2015. Playing fly-half, Tom scooped 18 points for the dark blues and scored the final try of the game to make it 38-16 to Oxford in the 137th Varisty Match. You can read a full match report on the England Rugby website.
Before he came to Hertford, Tom completed his MSc in Pharmacology at Lady Margaret Hall. Congratulations Tom (pictured to the left of the trophy below) and to the rest of the team – we hope to see you back on the pitch (and in the lab) soon!
