Teaching Excellence: Alison Woollard
1 November 2012
We are delighted to announce that Dr Alison Woollard, Fellow and Tutor in Biochemistry has won a university Teaching Excellence Award.
Dr Woollard is receiving an Excellent Teacher Award in recognition of her contributions to undergraduate and graduate teaching: she has provided high-quality tuition both within and outside her department for many years, and in her role as Director of Studies at Hertford. Dr Woollard consistently receives excellent student feedback: she has been commended for her clarity and enthusiasm. Her approach reflects the importance of teaching fundamental concepts in a variety of contexts in order to make those concepts accessible to all whom she teaches.
Hertford’s commitment to teaching is shown by the fact that six of our current fellows have won teaching awards: Alison Young (Law), Nick Barton (Archaeology), Tomo Suzuki (Management), David Greaves (Medicine), Peter Millican (Philosophy), Andreas Busch (Politics, now at Gottingen), and Emma Smith (English).
