Summer Studentships launched
26 February 2019
Applications for this year’s Summer Research Studentships are now open, giving Hertford students the opportunity to spend their summer undertaking a funded research project in Oxford.
Three Studentships are available, providing free accommodation and food in college for up to six weeks alongside a weekly allowance of £75. This initiative is designed to give undergraduate students the chance to experience academic research outside of their examined degree work. Recipients can work alongside Fellows or Lecturers from Hertford (or the wider University) to undertake a project in a research environment, whether that’s an archive, a laboratory or practical fieldwork.
Studentships in recent years have researched everything from genetics and molecular reaction pathways to philosophical metaphysics and comparative law – research proposals in the humanities, social sciences, medical sciences, or physical and life sciences are welcomed. The work completed by Law student Anna Lukina in 2016 was subsequently recognised with an international prize. Might you be next?
Applications from current Hertford undergraduates should be sent to Sue Geddes, the Bursar’s PA, by Friday of second week in Trinity Term (9 May 2019). More information can be found on the financial support pages of the Intranet and in the download below.
