New paper and podcast from newest fellow
18 October 2021
Earlier this month we welcomed Dr Linda Speight as Career Development Fellow and Departmental Lecturer in Physical Geography.
Linda is a hydrometeorologist working at the interface between research and practice. Before coming to Hertford, she was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Reading and has been a Senior Scientist at the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA). This week, her expertise is under the spotlight thanks to a new paper and podcast released with the Royal Meteorological Society.
The paper, co-authored with Karolina Krupska, forms part of the latest collection of peer-reviewed Climate Science Briefing Papers to be published in the Society’s Weather journal. In the lead up to COP26 next month, the Society has commissioned several papers from leading climate experts. These topics include tipping points, how climate change will affect UK weather extremes and what an ice-free Arctic could mean for European weather. Each paper is supported with a podcast featuring one of the authors in conversation with Science Engagement Manager, Hannah Mallinson.
