Law Reunion with Sir Jeffrey Jowell QC and Michael Fordham QC

Last Friday (12 October) current and former Hertford lawyers gathered to hear Professor Sir Jeffrey Jowell QC (1961) and Michael Fordham QC (1983) in conversation. Among the topics of discussion were Sir Jeffrey’s extensive experience in constitutional law both in the UK and around the world, as well as Michael Fordham’s record as one of the country’s leading human rights’ lawyers. A gathered audience made up of undergraduate and graduate law students, as well as graduates now working across the legal spectrum engaged in a stimulating consideration of how these various laws and rights interact within UK legislation, with a specific interest in the impact that Brexit will inevitably have on such matters. Following the discussion, attendees enjoyed drinks in the Principal’s Lodgings and dinner in Old Hall.
