Head of the Charles

On 20 October a crew of ex-Hertford rowers embarked on a trip across the pond to Boston, MA, to tackle the Head of the Charles.

The crew consists of largely office-fit members of the 2007, 8, 9 and 10 summer eights and Henley crews. After clashes of blades (in true bumps racing spirit) the crew finished 37th out of 50 total crews.

They were joined by an 1927 Club crew (the alumni club for Oxford and Cambridge Universities Womens’ Boat Clubs) of Oxford alumni,  who had never rowed together as an Eight before. They included Rachel Roberts (2008, nee Cary), and finished 39th out of 43 racing crews.
