Circular economies and ethical trade
13 July 2023
This week, Dr Steve New hosted a workshop in college on Blockchain Solutions in Recycling and the Circular Economy, co-organised with Dr Yu (Jack) Gong from Southampton University. The workshop drew together practitioners and researchers from several universities, as well as representatives from Vechain and Re-universe, to look at the actual applications of the technology to various supply chain problems, including plastic recycling and waste oil collection.
Steve has also recently completed his two-year term as Chair of FNET, the Food Network for Ethical Trade. FNET is a non-profit organisation for companies in the food, drink and horticultural sectors, concerned with improving human rights in food supply chains.
