A walk through Covid wards with Dr Henry Bettinson

Listen to Dr Henry Bettinson as he guides BBC Radio 4 through the Covid-19 patient pathways at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
Dr Bettinson, Hertford clinical medicine lecturer and lead respiratory consultant at Oxford University Hospitals, was speaking to Sarah Montague for Radio 4’s World at One programme last week. Alongside Professor Sir Peter Horby, who leads the RECOVERY Trial into treatments for Covid patients, Dr Bettinson explained how drugs identified through clinical trials are now being used in the high dependency and intensive care units.
Starting at A&E and following the pathways taken by Covid-19 patients through the hospital, Dr Bettinson spoke about his experience of treating patients during the pandemic, the success of newly-identified treatments, and the excpetional teamwork that has flourished in challenging circumstances.
