Hertford Golf: 2020 fixtures

Attention golfers of Hertford College!  This year’s outings take place at Swinley Forest (Ascot) on Monday 09 March and Frilford Heath (Oxford) on Friday 17 April.  Current and former students and academic staff are most welcome to come and play.

Swinley Forest is a Hertford only event comprising bacon rolls and coffee, 18 holes of stableford golf, lunch with prize giving, afternoon social golf and tea/sandwiches.  Cost is £135 per person. Contact Ian Welsh for more details on igwelsh@yahoo.co.uk

Frilford Heath is an inter-college competition which Hertford has entered for the last 11 years, winning on 3 occasions.  The format is similar to Swinley Forest but with a lot more golfers and an optional evening reception/dinner in Merton College.  Cost is £61 for golf (half price for full time students under 25) and £51.50 for dinner.

The Hertford golf team has a range of ages and golfing abilities through which strong friendships have formed since its inception in 2008.  We would love to have some new members!  Please contact Duncan Chisholm (djchisholm@gmail.com – Physics, 1997) if interested.

Finally, as many Hertford golfers may know, we will return to Swinley with some sadness as this time it will be without Jonathan Stewart, a driving force behind the society, who recently died. Already plans are taking shape to mark his passing appropriately – he will be much missed.
