Mary Starun Senior Scholarships in Polish Studies

In 2027–28, Hertford College is offering two Mary Starun Senior Scholarships in Polish Studies. The scholarship is open to current Oxford DPhil students in the humanities and social sciences who are undertaking research primarily focused on Poland (with preference for research into Polish history, language and literature), whose funding is at an end but who need additional time to complete their studies in Oxford.

The scholarship is in memory of Mary Starun, wife of Mr Leonid Starun, who endowed a graduate scholarship to foster research on Poland. The Hertford College Mary Starun Senior Scholarships in Polish Studies will be tenable for a single academic year and will consist of a stipend of £15,000 split into three payments of £5,000.

The call for applications will be announced in January 2027.
