Inventing a Sustainable Political Economy for the Climate Crisis

All are warmly invited to this exciting event at the Sheldonian Theatre, which sees Kate Raworth (author of Doughnut Economics) and Kim Stanley Robinson (author of The Ministry for the Future) join Oxford academics and alumni to discuss moral imagination, and the political-economic challenges of climate action.

Keynote speakers

Kate Raworth is an ecological economist focused on making economics fit for 21st century realities. She is the creator of the Doughnut of social and planetary boundaries. Her international best-selling book, Doughnut Economics: Seven Ways to Think like a 21st Century Economist, has been translated into more than 20 languages.

Kim Stanley Robinson is an American science fiction writer. He is the author of more than twenty books, including several international bestsellers. His novel, The Ministry for the Future, was selected as one of Barack Obama’s Favorite Books of 2020 and one of Bill Gates’ “5 Great Books for the Summer” in 2022.
