“After leaving Hertford I was determined to work in the environmental sector despite not having a degree in biology or geography which are usually seen as the traditional entry subjects particularly for a career in conservation.
Thankfully there are a wide variety of roles in the environmental sector from policy work through to political advocacy, to communications and marketing – all of which require a range of different skills and experience.
My current role at The Wildlife Trusts involves working with businesses to raise funds for conservation projects across the UK and it has been rewarding to see the positive impact that these have had.
Outside of work I am keen, yet decidedly amateur, water polo player.
