Martin Dunsby

CEO at Hybridge

Name: Martin Dunsby

Matriculation Year: 1986

Subject: PPE

Occupation: CEO at Hybridge

LinkedIn: Martin Dunsby

Bio:

“I have enjoyed an incredibly fun and fortunate path to where I am now: a startup founder, CEO, father, advisor, and investor, living in Silicon Valley.   I grew up in Yorkshire and was a Tanner Scheme beneficiary matriculating in 1986 reading PPE.  I first came to America with BUNAC for a summer working as a bike courier in Washington DC, back when people still needed to get physical documents between offices for signatures.

After graduating I moved to the US and right place/right timed my way into the early days of DARPANET/SEACOMNET, I installed some of the first Internet firewalls and websites, and worked with many amazing commercial and government clients in DC.  After a few years I joined the partnership at Deloitte Consulting, then moved to run sales and operations at a venture-backed Qualcomm spin-out, then became an Officer at a public company (not recommended unless you are super-patient..).  After I had my fill of Corporate America I joined a mobile gaming startup as CEO, then, after exit, a VC Venture Partner, then 10 years ago I founded and am still CEO of a successful Cloud Technology Firm based in Silicon Valley.

My story is one of “excel at whatever is in front of you, and great opportunities open up”.  If you made it into and through Hertford you can achieve absolutely anything you put your mind and full focus on.   It is a long way from my Yorkshire Comprehensive School to CEO of a Silicon Valley tech startup, but the path is possible and if I can help please reach out to me.

I’m happy to call/vid/chat with anyone interested in the Venture ecosystem, working in the US as a Brit, or tech startup/consulting careers in the US.”

If you would like to get in touch with Martin, message him directly on LinkedIn or contact the Development Office who can forward on your email.
