Mathematics interviews
Thank you for applying to Oxford to study Mathematics.
In the interview we will share with you a PDF file containing one or more questions. We will then ask you to work through these questions, giving help and guidance whenever needed. It will be helpful for us if you could articulate your thoughts on the questions out loud, even if these are not precisely formulated. This will enable us to work together with you in solving the problems. We want to help you do as well as possible with the questions, and look forward to meeting you.
During the interview, you should have access to an online Miro Whiteboard (www.miro.com) for natural handwriting capture. If possible, this should be accessed via a web browser or app on a separate device to the one used for Microsoft Teams. This second device should have a touchscreen and be used with a stylus – as we’ll be asking you to use the stylus, bigger screens on laptops and tablets would be preferable to phones. Take a look at our Online Interviews Technology page to find out more and watch an introductory video. If you have any questions or concerns about the technology set-up, you should email undergraduate.admissions@hertford.ox.ac.uk and we’ll do our best to help.
