Roger Wheeler came up to Hertford College in 1961.
Wheeler’s career in the British Army encompassed service in Cyprus, the Falklands, Northern Ireland and Bosnia. From 1997 to 2000, he served as Chief of the General Staff of the British Army. In 2001 he took on the ceremonial role of Constable at the Tower of London and served as a non-executive director for several businesses and charities. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, a Patron of the Police Foundation and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers.
