Professor Lukasz Fidkowski
Visiting Fellow
Theoretical Physics, University of Oxford
Lukasz Fidkowski is a physicist working at the intersection of condensed matter, quantum information, and mathematical physics. Lukasz Fidkowski, who is a professor at the University of Washington, Seattle, received the 2020 New Horizons in Physics Prize for his “ incisive contributions to the understanding of topological states of matter and the relationships between them“. Over the next six months at Oxford he plans to interact with a variety of colleagues across Physics and Maths, with a focus on many-body quantum dynamics and novel mathematical approaches to classifying exotic phases of matter. In particular, his interests overlap strongly with those of Prof. Siddharth Parameswaran and Dr. Benedikt Placke, especially in the area of novel dynamical quantum many-body phases, and he looks forward to a fruitful collaboration in this area.
