Enjoy afternoon tea in the quad

We’re delighted to be able to welcome visitors to our first ever public café, taking up a summer residence in the quad marquee from today.

 

You’ll be able to enjoy our delicious afternoon tea stands and premium selection of teas, iced coffee, English wine, local ales & Pimm’s in the peaceful surroundings of Old Buildings Quad. We’ll be open from 11am to 6pm each day, with our friendly catering team ready to welcome you at the entrance to the college. Afternoon teas will be available all day and after 4pm you’ll also be able to choose one of our sumptuous sharing boards, with options including artisan cheeses, local charcuterie and a vegetarian mezze.

The marquee is open to all members of the public; we are not taking reservations so please just come to our main entrance on Catte Street. We’re pleased to be able to offer Hertford alumni, staff and students a 25% discount for themselves and their guests when seated at a single table (up to a maximum of seven guests). Please remember to bring your Bod Card or Hertford Alumni Card to show to our catering team.

Please note that the marquee may be closed on certain days for private functions. Check our visiting page to find details of planned closures. We are not taking reservations but, if you would like to enquire about booking for larger groups of more than eight people, please email events@hertford.ox.ac.uk.

The marquee café will be open until Wednesday 8th September 2021.
