Philippa Thornton

Hi I’m Philippa and I’ve just finished my first year here at Hertford reading geography.

It’s been one of the best years of my life and the great community atmosphere at college definitely helped make it so special as well as all the extra curriculars on offer. I joined HCBC in Michaelmas and rowed with W1 for torpids and summer eights in which we achieved great success which I hope to build on next year as captain with our hertford4headship campaign! It was great to see so many of our alumni, including Zoe Lee there to support us and make the team feel part of something so much bigger. Hertford is such an amazing place to live and learn, and I’m especially appreciative of the kind atmosphere as someone from a less advantaged background who was unsure if they’d fit in at Oxford, but Hertford has proved me wrong completely.
