“Music has grown from a hobby to something that I spend most of my days playing, thinking about or listening to. For most of my time as a PPE student I assumed my life post university would necessarily be dictated by a 9 – 5 routine, only as my time at Hertford drew to a close did I begin to think seriously about alternatives to a traditional working life. While I wouldn’t go so far as to say that music offers me a full time living it does form a large part of my income stream and by diversifying my earnings (from tutoring GCSE Maths to photographing bus shelters in London), I am afforded the time and flexibility to devote my energy to the things I am most passionate about. I would be very happy to talk to students or other recent graduates interested in turning their creative pursuits into a livable career. In the three years since I graduated I have enjoyed many ups and downs, traveled a lot and met some wonderful people also working to forge their own career path and lifestyle.”
