Sir Henry Carr

It is with great sadness that we announce the death yesterday of Sir Henry Carr, distinguished barrister and high court judge, at only 61.

As a Hertford alumnus, Henry chaired our Remuneration Committee for the last four years with great dedication, shrugging off cancer until the very end. We are enormously grateful for all that he has done for Hertford, and on behalf of the college the Principal expressed his condolences and deepest sympathy to Henry’s wife, Jan, his children and all his many friends.

His funeral is at 1pm on the 26th July at Hoop Lane Crematorium, West Chapel.

The memorial service for Sir Henry Carr will be held on October 28th at 5.45 pm at the Liberal Jewish Synagogue, 28 St John’s Wood Road, London NW8 7HA.
