Distinguished economist
31 October 2018
Congratulations to Dr Teodora Boneva who has been awarded a Distinguished Affiliate Award by Munich’s CESifo research group.
Dr Boneva recently joined Hertford as our second Tutorial Fellow in Economics, coming to us from UCL where she was a Post-doctoral Research Fellow. Her current research investigates the role of beliefs in educational investment decisions and the role of educational interventions in fostering skills in childhood. Her Distinguished Affiliate Award in Behavioural Economics is in recognition of her working paper titled ‘Socio-Economic Gaps in University Enrollment: The Role of Perceived Pecuniary and Non-Pecuniary Returns’ which can be freely accessed from the University of Chicago.
The award was presented at the CESifo Annual Area Conference and is given to ‘a young economist for the scientific originality, policy relevance and quality of exposition of his/her paper presented at the conference’. CESifo Group Munich combines the theoretically oriented economic research of the university with the empirical work of a leading economic research institute and places this combination in an international environment.
