New prizes and awards for PPE
24 October 2017
Thanks to a generous donation from alumnus Calvin Cheng (1995) Hertford has been able to create a new set of prizes for PPE students.
The prizes will be awarded to students in the second and third years, who have demonstrated great effort, improvement and achievement in each of the disciplines: Politics, Philosophy and Economics. Calvin read PPE at Hertford, as well as a Masters in Industrial Relations, and since graduation has held a variety of roles as an entrepreneur and Parliamentarian based in Singapore.
Congratulations to this year’s beneficiaries:
THIRD YEAR
Libera Assini
Will Barnes
Holly Gardiner
Sean O’Neill
Younes Saidani

SECOND YEAR

We’re also enormously grateful to Graeme Preston (1994) who has set up the Preston Travel and Research Fund for students wishing to undertake academic research trips that may or may not be related to their subject of study. Graeme read History at Hertford, and is now a Partner at Herbert Smith Freehills in Tokyo.
Huge thanks to both Calvin and Graeme for these wonderful prizes!
