Launch of The Ellis Barnard History Fellowship Fund
30 September 2011
We held a special event on Friday the 30th of September 2011 to celebrate the strength of History at Hertford and publicly launch the Ellis Barnard History Fellowship Fund. Following Toby Barnard’s retirement in 2012, neither the college nor the history faculty can afford to guarantee a replacement. A fund has therefore been establishment with the aim of endowing a History fellowship.
A number of Hertford historians, past and present, collected in college to discuss their current research. Topics ranged from unauthorised miracles in ninth century Burgundy to an examination of tailor’s records and what this tells us about the development of the human body.
