Honorary Fellow meets stars at the Paris Olympics

Honorary Fellow and alumnus Richard Fisher (1972, Latin American Politics) got in touch to share some wet but wonderful pictures of the Paris Olympics, where he met some of the most talked about non-athletes: Snoop Dogg and Tom Cruise!

Richard was at the Games as a member of the board of directors of Warner Brothers and their affiliate, Eurosport. The latter broadcast the Olympics in the UK and in 47 different markets in 27 languages. NBC broadcast the Olympics in the USA, and Richard is also Senior Contributing Editor for CNBC, NBC’s business channel.

Richard said: “The real joy of being at the Olympics is that there are no Republicans or Democrats or partisan strife. Nor is there geopolitical tension. This is a model of an ideal world: every athlete everywhere has a chance to get here and once here to compete solely on merit and excellence. Medallists earn their reward and if they fail to win a medal, they get to try all over again in four years.”
