Hertford to support Bridging Programme
5 February 2013
Hertford is delighted to announce that it will co-host this year’s Bridging Programme for students with places to read Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences starting in October.
The transition from school to higher education can present a number of challenges, both academic and social, especially for students who have previously experienced educational or social disadvantage. The overarching aim of the MPLS Bridging Programme is to give further assistance to students who may experience the greatest transitional difficulties. In addition to academic content (including key mathematical and subject-specific skills), there will be a strong focus on pastoral and broader academic matters, such as critical thinking and independent learning skills. Sessions during the week include Problem Solving, Time Management, an Oxford Tutorial, Information Skills, a debate, group discussions and opportunities for socialising with fellow students.
Please visit the MPLS and Hertford websites later in the year for further details of the programme (30 September–5 October) and to apply, or contact Min Tak at min [dot] tak [at] mpls [dot] ox [dot] ac [dot] uk for further information.
