Hertford hosting S30 sustainability forum
9 June 2023
Hertford College is proud to be hosting the S30 for their annual forum today. Part of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, the S30 forum comprises Chief Sustainability Officers from some of the world’s most influential companies and is aiming to accelerate business action on sustainability. Launched by King Charles, in collaboration with EY (part of Ernst and Young Global Ltd) and communication company Freuds, S30 members represent some of the biggest businesses in the world covering a wide range of sectors, including consumer and industrial products, energy, financial services, life sciences and technology.
According to the King, “The role of the Chief Sustainability Officer is fast becoming one of the most important and influential roles in the corporate world and is increasingly central to market competitiveness. I very much hope to see major businesses around the world appoint suitably empowered chief sustainability officers to ensure sustainability is central to business strategy, decision-making, procurement, supply chains and customer engagement.”
During their visit, delegates were welcomed by Tom Fletcher and had an opportunity to meet with students and academic staff, whilst enjoying a delicious afternoon tea. We very much hope they enjoyed their time in Oxford!
