Hertford alum lighting up Sydney Opera House

Hertford English graduate Mark Grimmer is directing a project to transform the Sydney Opera House for the Vivid Sydney Festival later this month.

Mark founded 59 Productions in 2006, and the company has gone from strength to strength bringing the arts together with innovative technology in projects involving theatre, opera, stage, music and film. If you saw the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony, or the V&A’s Bowie exhibition, you’ve already seen Mark’s work: we look forward to seeing their new commission ‘Lighting the Sails’, which will show every night from 6pm to midnight in Sydney from 23 May to 9 June.
