South Essex Teachers’ Conference
5 July 2022 - 13:30
Do you work at a state school or college in South Essex? Join us for our first local teachers’ conference at Wat Tyler Country Park, Basildon.
We warmly invite you to join us for an afternoon of information, advice and practice-sharing from Oxford University. We’ll share the latest news from the University’s admissions office and work together on planning super-curricular and personal statement sessions for pupils. We’ll also talk about the best approach to teacher references and answer questions about how best to prepare and support your students as they navigate the Oxbridge application process.
For teachers and staff who are new to Oxbridge applications, we’ll start with an overview of the University and its admissions processes at 1:30pm. More experienced teachers are welcome to attend this too or to join us for the main part of the event from 2:30pm.
Hertford College’s outreach team will be there to lead the day, including Registrar & Director of Admissions Lynn Featherstone, STEM Outreach Officer Kathryn Boast, and Outreach & Communications Officer Nathan Stazicker.
Location: Wat Tyler Country Park, Pitsea Hall Lane, Pitsea, Basildon, Essex, SS16 4UH. Car parking is available on-site and Pitsea train station is a 10-minute walk away.
Times: 1:30pm – 5:00pm
Cost: Free of charge
Eligibility: Teachers and support staff from state-funded schools and colleges who can easily access the location are welcome to attend.
