Lecture title: Team Shakespeare: authorship and Renaissance theatre
In this lecture I take up two questions: who wrote Shakespeare? and, what did Shakespeare write? I try to answer them both by situating Shakespeare’s plays back in the theatre culture of the early modern period, drawing on new scholarship about collaborative authorship in the Shakespearean canon.
You are most welcome to bring guests. Please note that numbers are limited and allocation of places is strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. The Willis Building is located opposite Lloyd’s of London and the nearest tube stations are Aldgate, Bank and Monument. Willis will also require names for security purposes and you may be required to produce photocopy identification upon arrival.
All the money raised from ticket sales is being donated to our History Fellowship Fund. For each ticket sold we can reclaim a further ÂŁ3.75 in Gift Aid from HMRC; if you are a UK tax payer please make a Gift Aid declaration by ticking the relevant box on our reply slip.
Please RSVP by Tuesday 4th June to the Members’ and Development Office by completing the reply slip below. Payment can be made via cheque or credit/debit card; please make cheques payable to Hertford College or ring us on 01865 279428 to make card payments.
