CN Lester: Everyday Activists
23 November 2018 - 17:45
On Friday of 7th week (23 November), CN Lester will be coming to Hertford College to discuss LGBT+ rights and the ways we can be activists in our everyday lives.
CN Lester is a campaigner for LGBT+ and trans rights; a musician, and a writer. They have twice been recognised in The Independent’s list of the UK’s most influential LGBT+ activists for their work co-founding the Queer Youth Network and the first Gay-straight alliance.
Their book, Trans Like Me, published by Virago, is a moving account of trans experience and works to insightfully dispel the myths and prejudices around trans identity. Trans Like Me has received glowing reviews from the Times Literary Supplement and Publishers Weekly, and has been listed by The New York Times as one of the three most important books about trans rights and gender identity that you should read.
Make sure to come to Hertford Porters’ Lodge a little before the event is scheduled to start – there will be someone waiting for you there to take you to the event. If you have any concerns or questions about accessibility please do not hesitate to contact Fenella Sentance or Eddie Gao.
Free tickets can be reserved on Eventbrite.
